It was somehow less embarrasing for me to take pictures of strangers' legs on the street without asking than it would have been for me to tell them that I needed a picture of their dog for my girlfriend.

Mom's visit wasn't all spent looking at things, though.  We managed to squeeze in some Dilts family staples, namely, recycling and fancy beer.

Mom came to visit Edmonton, hooray!  It turns out we spend a lot of time looking at plants, which makes sense in this mini-conservatory:
