More connectivity

Look!  Stanford!  Live via, um, cable!  And THEY were excited to work with US!

GRRRRR!!

Naturally, the day I get a beautiful view of the Vancouver skyline, visit chinatown, walk along the seawall, go to Granville Island and Emily Carr, go to the science museum and build a tower of blocks to the ceiling and let two 8 year olds dive head first into the tower to knock it over, that's the day I forget to bring my camera. Grrrr! Oh well, here's the picture of Noah
I would have put up on Friday.

Variety

Jingxia had over Albertans old and new (see below) for dinner tonight. I don't think we expected a 9-dish feast: red bean, eggplant, tofu, cashew, mushroom, beef, pork, chicken, and shark-fin soup. You can see how amazing it was.
(you can also see how few people obeyed my silly-face directive.)

Censored!

I got some cool pictures of kids playing dodgeball on campus, but one of the counsellors asked me not to publish them. Boo-urns. Oh well, this was the view I spent more of my day looking at anyway.

California

Man. My colour balance can not even handle how beautiful this place is.

Electruck

I can upload movies now! Tell me if you don't like it.

This is not a caption - the caption for this post is auditory.

The Library

If I'm not working downstairs i'm working upstairs in this library. Either way, it's usually until 12:00 or 1:00 am, and I'm not the last to bed.

Education

I hear Walt is a great linguist, but I haven't read any of his stuff (or seen his movies) yet, so the only thing I can tell you from first-hand experience is that he's an awesome guy.

Leland Jr.

What I thought was just a knock-off totem pole turned out to be a pole specifically made to represent Stanford by a Haida artist in Prince Rupert in 2002. This little guy on top is meant to represent little Leland Jr.

Technical Difficulties

Aunt Toni lent me a sweet bike, and it's done me well so far, but I'm pretty sure the pedals aren't supposed to look like this.

Guess What!

I'm not the only one taking a picture a day! I think Tamrika's photos are going in a gallery, though. I doubt the one she's taking here will make the cut.

Hard at Work?

Here's what the dorms look like. 3 of the 5 of us Albertans are in this one, so I hang out sometimes too.

Jing! Xia! Zai!

I saw Jing Xia today! Finally! I knew she was around here somewhere, but I didn't know that she had bought the exact same camera I have, except it's also a phone. Wow.
