In Soviet Russia, Politician Pays to See YOU!

When I found out Jean Chretien was coming, I bought every ticket they had left and asked every student I know in Edmonton if they wanted one. All the non-commonwealth citizens I asked said "but why would you pay to see a politician?" All the commonwealth citizens I asked bought me out in less than 45 minutes.

maybe i've lived in the states too long...what's a "commonwealth" or "non-commonwealth" citizen?

"Commonwealth citizens" is my way of saying "Canadians and Georgie". Georgie is from New Zealand.

did you make a profit?

I prefer to think of it as a service charge.

So... anyone given up their ticket yet?!

Alas, no. On the contrary, I keep getting asked if I still have tickets.

Haaaah!
The title is Awesome!

I can suggest another version:
"In Soviet Russia, you pay NOT to see a politician".
